This Month’s Focus
Every quarter, we compile placement data from our work across 14+ industries to identify where talent demand is growing fastest — and where the supply-demand gaps are most acute. This edition shares our findings from Q4 2024 and early Q1 2025.
The headline: demand for skilled professionals is growing faster than supply in almost every sector we work in. The organisations that will win the talent competition are those that move quickly, pay competitively, and build employer brands that make candidates want to say yes.
The Top 10 In-Demand Roles
Based on search volume, application-to-offer ratios, and client urgency, these are the 10 roles that dominated our work in Q4 2024:
- Data Engineer / Data Analyst — Demand up 34% YoY. Every industry, from FMCG to healthcare, is scrambling for people who can work with data.
- Healthcare Coordinator / Ward Manager — Hospital expansions across Tier-2 cities are creating chronic shortages in clinical management roles.
- KPO Research Analyst — Demand for specialised knowledge processing roles is accelerating, particularly in legal, pharma, and financial services.
- IT Sales / BDM — The SaaS market in India has created enormous demand for people who can sell complex technology solutions.
- HR Business Partner — Companies scaling fast are investing in HR infrastructure, and strategic HRBP talent is genuinely scarce.
- Digital Marketing Manager — Every business that went digital during the pandemic is now professionalising its marketing function.
- Supply Chain / Logistics Manager — Post-pandemic supply chain complexity is driving sustained demand.
- Chartered Accountant (Industry) — Demand for CA talent in industry roles (vs. practice) continues to outpace supply.
- Registered Nurse (Specialist) — Critical shortage in ICU, OT, and speciality nursing nationwide.
- Real Estate BDM — The residential property boom in Gujarat has created significant demand for experienced sales professionals.
Sector Spotlight: Healthcare
The healthcare sector deserves special mention this month. With India’s hospital bed capacity growing at 8-10% annually while qualified clinical staff supply grows at half that rate, the talent gap is widening every quarter.
The roles hardest to fill in healthcare right now:
- Specialist physicians in dermatology, oncology, and anaesthesiology (6+ month average fill time)
- ICU nurses with at least 2 years of experience
- Medical coding professionals with AAPC certification
- Healthcare administrators with P&L experience
For healthcare employers reading this: the talent isn’t going to get easier to find. The organisations building proactive talent pipelines now — through college relationships, referral programmes, and strong employer brands — will have a significant competitive advantage in the years ahead.
Practical Advice for Employers
🎯 This Month’s Action Item
Review the last 5 roles you tried to fill. For each one, calculate how long it took from opening the requisition to the new hire starting. If the average is more than 8 weeks for non-specialist roles, your hiring process has a speed problem — and in this market, speed directly translates to candidate quality.
CPN Updates
A quick update from our team: we’ve formally launched our dedicated healthcare recruitment practice, with three specialists focused exclusively on clinical and healthcare management roles. If you have healthcare hiring needs in Gujarat or Maharashtra, we’d love to have a conversation.
We’ve also crossed 200 successful placements in Q4 2024 — a milestone we’re proud of, and one that reflects the trust our clients place in our work. Thank you.
